Dancer, choreographer and actress Lindsey Hanson has performed on esteemed stages such as The Kennedy Center, Radio City Music Hall and BroadwayÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s Marquis Theatre ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É” plus in movies and regional stage productions, on TV (from Sesame Street to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and on several cruise lines as a dancer and aerial artist. 

Jazz dance through a performance lens is the focus of her teaching. Since joining the Department of Dance in 2020 she has also taught a wide range of other courses, reinforcing her pedagogical emphasis on versatility in the industry. Lindsey currently teaches Jazz II and Jazz III, Repertory (emphasizing dances from musical theatre), Ballet I and Survey of Somatic Methods. 

Lindsey mentors student choreographers in HopeÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s student dance showcases and takes great joy in advising students as they envision a career in dance. She also choreographs jazz works for the annual faculty dance concert.

Hope dancers have been featured in live performances of LindseyÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s  and in the 2024 film of the related dance piece in collaboration with her professional network, . The film of Sanctuary was screened at the National Women in Dance Leadership Conference in Los Angeles in 2024, as one of 10 films selected from more than 160 submitted by filmmakers in 19 countries. Since 2021, Sanctuary has been selected for 13 film festivals globally.

Outside the College

Lindsey loves to work in her garden and make her backyard into her familyÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s oasis. She adores cooking for people and sharing a laugh. Her favorite activities are living room dance parties with her children and husband and going for a run. In her twenties, Lindsey toured over 40 countries performing in a trapeze act and as a dancer. Because of this, she has a deep appreciation for traveling globally and for climbing tall things.
