Amelia Mendelsohn
Visiting Assistant Professor of Art
Amelia Mendelsohn teaches basic courses in drawing and painting at Hope College as a visiting assistant professor. She previously taught as an instructor at the University of Notre Dame and currently serves on the board for Sweet Briar College亚洲色吧檚 Friends of Art.
Her current paintings explore family dynamics, conflict, and memory within the home through a feminist understanding of the domestic sphere. Professor Mendelsohn亚洲色吧檚 work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. in Virginia, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. In 2022, she participated in Kylemore Abbey Global Centre亚洲色吧檚 artist residency program and exhibited her work in Ireland. She has been teaching at Hope since 2023.
