Dr. Steven Smith
Retired Faculty
Steven Smith started at Hope College in the fall of 1990 as a professor of kinesiology and the head men's soccer coach. He taught many courses in physical education teacher education. Additionally, he taught a senior seminar on faith and vocational calling. One of his favorite roles was serving as a mission trip leader every spring break to Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Areas of expertise
StevenÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s research was in preadolescent childhood obesity. He was connected to the foundation for fitness program and researched the motor performance ability of obese children.
